The arrests on Sunday were made as rescue workers pulled out one more body from the debris of the collapsed building, taking the death toll to four.

There were around 30-40 workers inside the under-construction building in Shalimar Garden when it caved in. Rescue officials managed to pull out 15 workers alive from the rubble.

The condition of the 15 workers is said to be critical. Ghaziabad district magistrate Shashi Bhushan, who ordered a magisterial probe into the incident, said, “Strict action will be taken against the builders.”

The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has decided to blacklist the builder —Kranti Associates. “There were serious lapses on their part,” GDA’s vice-chairman, Narendra Kumar Chaudhary, told HT.

Raids were on in Delhi and Ghaziabad to nab the owners of Kranti Associates.
