In retrospect, Ghulam Ali’s 1998 concert in Mumbai was disrupted by Shiv Sena. After that, he has come here on and off and performed at private soirees.
Prasad Mahadkar of Jeevan Gaani says, “We have been wanting to invite Ghulam Ali saab for a long time now, and he, too, is very fond of India. He asked us if we could have Suresh Wadkar sing for him.” Ghulam Ali professes to be a fan of Wadkar.
Ghulam Ali is also expected to attend the finals of Zee’s Sa Re Ga Ma Challenge 2005, to be held today at the Andheri Sports Complex.
Coming up next from Jeevan Gaani is Khayyam’s autobiography, to be launched on March.
