A girl and her lover were arrested in Meerut for allegedly killing her father and her ex-boyfriend, police said on Monday.

Deepa (17) and Javed were arrested last night for killing Moolchand (65), and his driver Raj Singh (25) before throwing their bodies into a canal, SP RP Pandey said.

Singh, Deepa's former lover, and Javed had a quarrel following which Javed decided to take revenge, Pandey said.

The two accused reportedly got Moolchand and Singh drunk and then hit them with iron rods, before dumping them into the canal on November 3, SP said.

Singh's brother alleged the involvement of Moolchand's daughter and her lover, following which police took both of them in custody where they accepted their involvement in the murder, he said.
