The girl, a final year student of computer science, left home on January 4, following which, on January 15 her father lodged a case against unknown people for kidnapping her, a police spokesperson said.

Following a complaint by the girl’s father, police tracked her phone call details and traced her at the woman’s house in Dewri, Agra.

Three days back, the girl and the 25-year-old woman, who runs a cosmetic shop in Dewri, appeared before the SDM and Saran police station in charge here and presented an ‘affidavit’ of their ‘marriage’, he said.

Police said, although ‘same-sex marriage’ is not lawful in the country, since both are adults, they can’t be stopped from living together.
