Addressing a public meeting at Ganaur town, 16 km from Sonepat on Friday, BSP president Mayawati said "the BSP was the only party which could uplift the members of the backward classes and Dalits as well as the weaker sections of society".

The BSP leader also gave a call to the voters to end the "misrule of Chautala" and to go in for politics of change to ensure amelioration of the lot of the poor, the peasants and the underprivileged.

She said that if her party comes into power in the state, there would be a "total transformation" of the political scenario along with that of the masses during the next five years in the state.

Criticising the functioning of the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre, she alleged that the prices of all essential commodities had gone up manifold during the seven-month rule.

"All the sections of society are suffering due to the price rise. The BSP can provide a clean and crime-free government in the state and would make welfare policies for all section of people in Haryana," Mayawati said.
