Ramdayal Rathore, his wife Yogita, two children and neighbour Palak Thakur — all residents of Sukhliya area of Indore — were travelling in the car on Thursday night.
The driver of the car had parked the vehicle at a lonely place near Gavadi village on Agra-Mumbai National Highway to take rest. All of a sudden, four miscreants came and took Rathore and Jain to a field, before snatching Rs 49,000, two mangalsutras, a ring and chains from Yogita and Palak and a bracelet from Rathore.
But, when they heard that they were going to Shirdi, they not only stopped torturing the family members but also returned Rs 3,000 to them. One of the miscreants also threatened that if they returned home without visiting Shirdi, they would kill them, the family members told police.
Rathore and his relatives lodged a report with the Sendhwa rural police station after they returned from Shirdi.
