Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has accused senior BJP leader LK Advani of attempting to create another partition of the country on religious lines through his

Bharat Suraksha Yatra

.

"Advani wants to create another partition. He who supports Jinnah wants to divide the nation again on the basis of religion by going on his yatra", Gogoi told reporters.

"Advani is a hypocrite and never visited the Indo-Bangladesh border when he was Home Minister. He did not respond even when I suggested that we jointly review the situation there", he asserted.

Expressing serious concern over infiltration from Bangladesh, Advani had claimed in Ahmedabad that "Assam is facing external aggression and the nation is facing the threat of another partition due to illegal immigration" and had also cautioned against any partition of the country.

"Let him explain to the people as to what steps he took as Home Minister to prevent infiltration", Gogoi said.
