THE CONSTRUCTION work of the proposed 12-km Guna bypass near Guna had to be suspended following unavailability of much-needed murram (gravel). Member of Parliament Jyotiraditya Scindia has urged the district administration to make murram available at the earliest so that the construction work could be resumed soon.

Site in-charge of the construction company, Sudershan Reddy, said only one lakh cubic meter murram could be obtained in the last one year for the bypass construction work when actually the need was for five lakh cubic meter.

The construction was discontinued about 20 days back with an estimated loss of around Rs 80 lakhs during this period for the company.
