The formation of the committee comes more than two months after VAT was implemented.
It comes after much resistance and repeated representations from the trading community regarding "discrepancy" in the laws, said an official statement.
The 18-member committee, which will function up to March 31, 2007, will look at and resolve the after-issues that have come up following the implementation of VAT, it added.
State Urban Development Minister IK Jadeja will head the committee with Finance Minister Saurabh Dalal as his deputy.
The committee has as members other ministers, bureaucrats and representatives from business bodies, including the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries (GCCI) and Gujarat Federation of Indian Industries (FII).
