Making the announcement, Gujjar Reservation Sangharsh Committee convener Om Prakash Bhadana told reporters that they would intensify their agitation if the state government failed to provide quota to Gujjars.

Meanwhile, over 200 Gujjars blocked the National Highway here for three hours in protest against the court order.

Earlier in the day, staying the operation of the Act, the high court directed the state government to undertake a data collection exercise to justify the quota for Gujjars.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Arun Mishra and Justice Mahesh Bhagwati asked the government to complete the quantifiable data collection exercise within a year to justify the quota for Gujjars under the Special Backward Class category.
