Gulzar conferred Sahitya Shiromani Samman

The award consisting of a cash award of Rs 25,000, a shawl and a citation was presented on the occasion the 17th literary festival.

Noted lyricist Gulzar has been conferred with the Sahitya Shiromani Samman by the Hindu Urdu Sahitya Committee in Lucknow.

The award consisting of a cash award of Rs 25,000, a shawl and a citation was presented on the occasion the 17th literary festival.

Amongst the other noted Hindu Urdu writers who were conferred the Sahitya Shiromani Samman were Virendra Narain Yadav from Patna, Abilash Awasthi from Mumbai, DC Pandey 'Nazar' from Kanpur, Javed Danish and Dr Tejasvi from Karnataka.

The Sahitya Shree Samman awards were conferred on Dr Kumar Vishwas from Noida, Alok Srivastava from Delhi and Dr Nirmal Darshan from Lucknow.

Special Kaustubh Award was conferred on Gopal Das 'Neeraj' and Bhartendu Harishchand award was conferred on Arjun Chauhan from Mumbai, Yaad Dehalvi from Lucknow and Salim Arif from Mumbai.

Haryana Governor AR Kidwai, his Jharkhand counterpart Sibte Razi, Shabana Azmi, Farooq Sheikh were present on the occasion.
