The main function was held at Gurudwara Nanaksar at Hamidia Road. Guru Granth Saheb, placed on a decorated palanquin, was offered flowers by the devotees amidst kirtan by Ragi Jaththas. The gurudwaras reverberated with
the chanting of ‘Bole So Nihal Satshree Akal’.

Prerna Seva Trust organised a blood donation camp at the Gurudwara premises in which 128 people donated blood. In his discourse on the occasion, Dr Jodh Singh said that Guru Granth Saheb has the voice of all the religions, communicating the message of amity and brotherhood.

Guru Nanak has asked people to shun greed, indulgence and arrogance and every devout person, who swears by his name, should dedicate himself to the service of humanity, he said.

Minister for Commerce & Industries Babulal Gaur said that Sikh community has a glorious past and ‘darshan’ at Golden Temple in Amritsar purges the soul in the same way as bathing in the Ganges. Former MLAs Ramesh Sharma ‘Guttu’ and P C Sharma also offered prayers at the gurudwara.
