The new Hamas-dominated parliament was sworn in on Saturday, with the 132 legislators taking a collective oath.

Hamas controls 74 of the 132 seats in the new legislature.

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas was expected to ask the Islamic militant group to form the next government.
