The chief secretary will convene a review meeting of the home department on April 27.

Meanwhile, the victim’s ordeal is not over yet. The minor, who was admitted to the Civil Hospital for 18 hours, had to face many “uncomfortable questions pertaining to the incident” from various quarters, including the police. Moreover, the parents are livid over the treatment meted out by the hospital and the police.

“Since last night my son is in the hospital. He is disturbed due to the questions being asked by the staff," the victim's father said.

On Sunday, the parents got the boy discharged from the hospital. The police have been waiting for the final medical report for which samples were sent. However, there is an effort to hush up the case.

Dr PK Choudhary, surgeon of the Civil Hospital, told the parents that he has asked a psychiatrist to counsel the boy. But even after waiting for five hours, no one turned up. Senior psychiatrist Dr Brahmdeep Sindhu, however, refuted the allegations.
