Strange it may sound but cosy massage parlours, beauty parlours, hairsaloons tailoring shops and cafeteria are being run in hostel room of King George’S Medical University in Lucknow.

The fact came to lightwhen the Proctorial Board of the university raided the boys Sardar Patel Hostel and the Girls Vijay Luxshmi Hostel.

At the Sardar Patel Hostel the proctorial board found to its surprise a board which read SP Shopping Centre outside hostel rooms number one and two. Therules of any university prohibit such activities but the Munnabhais of the medical university are having a gala time in room number 11 the proctors found a tailoring shop being run.

The shop repairs jeans ,pants salwars, skirts , nighties and even undergarments whose stitches have given way. It also stitches new clothes What surprised the board members most was a massage parlour in room number 138. Probably the junior doctors want all comforts of life in hostel which they cant get at home.

It is learnt that jam sessions and dance parties are also being organised in both boys and girls hostels.

An eating joint was detected at the girl’s Vijay Luxshmi Hostel where outsiders and patients visiting the university-cum hospital are charged Rs 30 to 40.

Similarly rates for 'various types' of body massages are very low for hostellers but outsiders have to cough out big money. The proctorial board succeeded in getting vacated room number 48 in possession of HarDayal Verma since 1985.

Interestingly he is a medical student in fifth year. Meanwhile it is suspected that five more girls acted as 'solvers' during the past PGME examinations.
