THE INDORE bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court on Wednesday summoned records from the lower court in connection with the fact-fudging case against DG (Home Guards) Swaraj Puri.
Advocate Gokul Singh Chauhan, who appeared on behalf of the State Government, said the matter will come for hearing after two weeks.
The records include documentary evidences and proceedings of the lower court. After having lost the case in the court of First Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADJ) Akhilesh Pandya, former BJP corporator Mahesh Garg has filed a criminal revision through his counsel at the High Court, challenging the lower court order, which, he said, was “arbitrary, against the collected evidence and findings of the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) investigation report”.
In a judgement delivered last month, the court of First ADJ pronounced Puri not guilty of fudging any facts related to admission of his son Shreyas in Shri Govindram Sakseria Institute of Technology and Science, Indore, under NRI-sponsored quota in 2001. The lower court passed this order after EOW investigated the matter and submitted its report to the court.
