Today’s order was passed by a Division Bench, comprising Justice AK Yog and Justice RK Rastogi, after hearing advocate-general SMA Kazmi. The advocate-general had supported the State Government’s order transferring Dr Verma from Allahabad.
An advocate of the Allahabad High Court Suvarna Singh had filed an application before the Division Bench, seeking intervention and suitable action against the officers concerned, who, in violation of High Court orders, had passed the order transferring Dr Verma from Allahabad.
The plea of the petitioner was that the divisional commissioner could not have been transferred without permission of the court. The court heard the parties at length and refused to interfere with the transfer of Dr Verma.
Inspection held: Justice Sunil Ambwani of the High Court visited the Allahabad District Court on Monday.
Justice Ambwani is also an administrative judge for the Allahabad District Court. He met the judicial officers and thereafter inspected the court compound. He took stock of the problems being faced by the advocates and litigants.
Justice Ambwani also went to the multi-storeyed building of the District Court and took stock of the functioning of the lift and other facilities.
