He earned laurels even from critics

HE IS a disciplined man who stays consistently and persistently focused on his objective. Meet General Manager of North Central Railway Budh Prakash who has earned laurels for his public interest initiatives that have impressed even the worst of his critics.

HE IS a disciplined man who stays consistently and persistently focused on his objective. Meet General Manager of North Central Railway Budh Prakash who has earned laurels for his public interest initiatives that have impressed even the worst of his critics.

Born in village Dolcha of Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh and brought up in a lower middle class family, he led a tough life as a child but proved that hard work and sincerity pays in the long run. Budh Prakash gives credit of his success to his father and uncle both of whom ensured that the children of the household got proper and quality education against all odds.

"I received primary education in a small school of the village. Later, I passed my intermediate from GIC of Meerut," he said.

Throughout his academic career he remained a meritorious student and later appeared for engineering examinations coming out with flying colours. Having completed his civil engineering studies, Budh Prakash joined the Indian Railways.

"I find my work challenging as well as interesting. As I am holding a responsible position in NCR, my first priority is safety of the passengers", he says with pride.

When asked how does he handle the work pressure, he immediately added, "I have no pressure at work. I have got my priorities fixed. And I carry out my work accordingly." Though his official life is quite busy, but never stressful. He does his work with great pleasure. He is lenient with his office staff but very strict with regard to work. "I have no demand from any of the staff members except for work".

When he gets time from his busy schedule he loves to be with his wife and his two children, a son and a daughter.

He is also fond of reading Vedic literature and medical books. Not only this, he has been a good basketball player and a swimmer in his young age.

At the same time he added, "I have never been able to pursue any of my interest". But one thing of which he is particular about is practising Yoga and meditation. He does not believe in rituals but adheres to values and virtues.
