Head?s transfer deprives medical staff of salary

Dr MP Singh was transferred to the post of SIC of the SRN Hospital, after SIC Dr NBL Srivastava retired on June 30. He was given the post on the basis of seniority. For some reason, MLN Medical College principal Dr PC Saxena reportedly did not allow him to join. Dr Singh was earlier posted as CMS of the SN Children’s Hospital, Allahabad.
Dr MP Singh’s not being allowed to join on the post allegedly by principal Dr PC Saxena has led to delay in release of the salary of over 250 nurses, pharmacists and other Class III and Class IV employees.
Their July salary cheques have reportedly arrived on July 1 but could not be released without signature of the SIC.
The nurses are particularly anxious over the delay in salary since it’s July when they have to deposit their children’s fees for the new academic session.
“There is a lot of expenditure in July because we have to submit our children’s fees, buy new books and uniform and make other arrangements.
The delay in release of the salary is causing inconvenience, particularly when salary cheques have already arrived at the CMS’ office,” said senior staff nurse Safia Khatun.
Safia Khatun said over 250 nurses, pharmacists, lab technicians, clerks and other Class III and Class IV employees were affected due to delay in release of the salary which could be released only with signature of the SIC but there were no signs that Dr MP Singh would join, she added.
