Hot winds blowing through the entire Purvanchal region since the beginning of day on Sunday, have compelled the citizens to adopt various means to beat the heat. This is the second consecutive day of intolerable heat and scorching sun.
An eminent meteorologist and former Professor of BHU, Prof BRD Gupta is of the view that this condition would continue for the next 5 to 6 days, as the monsoon has become weak in the entire country, including eastern UP.

In such an unbearable heat, citizens preferred to confine to their houses.

The meteorologist, Prof Gupta, said, pre-monsoon conditions had prevailed in the eastern UP with rain on June 7 and 8, giving a sigh of relief from heat to the citizens due to pressure of monsoon from low pressure areas of West Bengal and Bihar, but till its arrival in Patna, it became weak, causing the heat in the atmosphere.

He said, the conditions would prevail in the region for a few more days till monsoon arrives. He said people would get relief from heat as the monsoon was further made from low-pressure areas. This (Sunday) is the first day of June after pre-monsoon conditions when hot winds are blowing with approximate maximum temperature of around 40 to 41 degree.
