Henin-Hardenne eases into semi-finals

Justine Henin-Hardenne of Belgium advanced into the semi-finals of the US Open for the first time on Thursday with 6-2 6-3 win over seventh seed Anastasia Myskina of Russia.

Second seed Justine Henin-Hardenne of Belgium advanced into the semi-finals of the US Open for the first time on Thursday with 6-2 6-3 win over seventh seed Anastasia Myskina of Russia.

The French Open champion will next play sixth seed Jennifer Capriati of the United States, who defeated Italy's Francesca Schiavone 6-1 6-3.

Beaten in the fourth round on her last three visits to Flushing Meadows, Henin-Hardenne sped through the first set in 27 minutes.

She then broke her Russian opponent to go 4-3 up in the second set and again to close out the match.
