Zimbabwe-born Hick, who played 65 Tests for his adopted country, hit 28 fours and eight sixes at New Road to punish the tourists' attack.

He reached his double century off 198 balls in 272 minutes.

Worcestershire scored 318 for six declared to move 209 ahead.

New Zealand slow left arm spinner Daniel Vettori was the best of the bowlers with three for 47 off 14.4 overs.

The match ended in a draw with the Kiwis 71-1 in their second innings.

They face Kent in another four-day game starting on Thursday and England at Lord's May 20 in the first of two Tests.
