How is the weather in Gulmarg in the first week of August? Will it be snowing or raining then?
Anuradha
It does rain in July and August, and it also snows at higher altitudes in Gulmarg. In May, Gulmarg was entirely clad in snow. The best time is from May to June and October to November. And if you’d like to ski, December to January is recommended. But you won’t be able to enjoy the lush greenery in Pahalgam.

We are two couples travelling to Mussoorie in an Innova. Please suggest a good route. Are there any good places to stop for brunch?
Reshma
Take the bypass from Murad Nagar, ahead of Ghaziabad — it is a stress free road and takes you to Roorkee without traffic. Every two kms, you find vendors hawking wares and food. Exactly halfway is the Cheetal resort. Before Roorkee there is a rough patch of road which slows you down, but once you’re in Roorkee, the way to Dehradun is smooth. Please take this trip during the day as there are roads are empty at night. Carry snacks and water so as not to stop en route.
