Hizb commander killed, 2 ultras trapped in encounter

A group commander of Hizbul Mujahideen was killed and two other militants, including a divisional commander, were trapped on Tuesday in an encounter with security personnel at Dachan, about 340 km from Jammu, in Kishtwar district, official sources said.

Acting on a tip-off about the presence of militants at Kripaknoo area in Dachan, security forces launched a search operation in wee hours, they said.

During the operation, the militants fired at the search team. In the retaliatory fire which was continuing till noon, a group commander of the outfit Karri Qazi was killed and two of its member, including a divisional commander, were trapped, they added.
