Hockey umpire Qureshi to get lifetime achievement award

International hockey umpire, Shakeel Ahmad Qureshi will be felicitated with the lifetime achievement award on Sports Day on August 29.

Qureshi, who has umpired hockey matches all over the world, has been chosen for this award, state Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Tukojirao Puar announced this last evening.

The minister also announced 14 Eklavya awards, 10 Vikram awards and three Vishwamitra awards.

The coaches to be honoured with Vishwamitra Awards include Manoj Kumar Dube of Gwalior (karate), Kamla Rawat of Bhopal (judo) and Dilip Patel of Jabalpur (basketball).
