North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council chief executive member Mohet Hojai and joint director of social welfare department R H Khan were on Sunday remanded to two days police custody for allegedly financing the banned Dima Halam Daoga (DHD-Jewel) militant group.

The two were produced in the court of the chief judicial magistrate after they were arrested on Saturday at Haflong for allegedly financing the banned Dima Halam Daoga (DHD-Jewel) militant group.
The police had seized Rs four lakh in cash from the residence of Khan prior to his arrest.
On April one, four youths were arrested by Guwahati police from the Jorabat area with Rs one crore which they later confessed was given to them allegedly by Hojai for handing handover to DHD(J) members in Shillong.
