Making the request to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi recently, Hooda suggested that the special component plan in case of NCR should be part of the annual plan and financing pattern should be changed from loans only to part subsidy and part soft loan, official sources said on Sunday.

The National Capital Region (NCR) Planning Board is at present providing financial assistance to Haryana in the shape of loans at an interest rate of 8.25 per cent and nine per cent depending on the nature of projects.

With a view to providing impetus to laying down infrastructure in NCR towns and to create economic activities in the rural areas, there is an urgent need to take a re-look at the entire concept of providing financial assistance to the State Government, Hooda told the PM.
