He raised the demand in his speech at a conference of the chief ministers on internal security held here.
Gurgaon, Faridabad and Sonepat districts had witnessed rapid economic growth and attracted huge investments from within the country and abroad, he said, adding that these cities needed the same level of policing as Delhi.
"At present, police population ratio of these cities is less than 50% of Delhi. Haryana is a buffer for safety and security of Delhi and as such the Haryana Police have to remain active to tackle problems connected with the national capital territory," he said.
Hooda requested the prime minister to sanction a special financial package to meet the challenges of the National Capital Region (NCR) districts.
