The injured students have been admitted to a private hospital where their condition is stated to be out of danger. Tension has gripped the area and heavy police force has been deployed in and around the college to restore normalcy.

Panic gripped the hostellers soon after the incident. The college administration closed the institution on Saturday and evicted the inmates of the hostels forcefully.

According to information, in the first incident, two groups of students clashed with each other over a dispute near the new hostel on Friday evening. Members of both the groups were injured in the clash. A student managed to dash into the house of the chief warden of the college and saved himself from further attack. The irate students also damaged some vehicles.

Following the clash, bedlam prevailed among the inmates of hostels who closed their rooms in fear. The shopkeepers outside the college also downed their shutters immediately.

On getting information, principal and chief warden of the college rushed to the spot along with police and drove away a group of irate students. After reviewing the situation, the principal, Dr Rama Shanker Singh, ordered closure of the college on Saturday and vacation of hostels to restore normalcy on the campus.

Later, at around 1.45 am, two students, Vinay (20) and Prem Bhushan (25), were injured when members of the rival group opened fired at them. They were rushed to Singh Medical and Research Centre for treatment. The doctors took out the bullets from their bodies on Saturday morning.
