1 Be wary of extremes: New restaurants with all rave/poor reviews should make you think twice. They could have been written by relatives or competitors. 2 Too general: Reviews that don’t have any specifications will never give a true picture. 3 Who is the reviewer: Look at the reviewers’ profiles and note if they prefer fine-dining or local chains, to get a perspective on price, quality, service comments. 4 Discard dated reviews: Always look at the date when the review was posted; restaurants can change quickly from good to bad or bad to good. 5 One is not enough: If there’s only one review, check what professional critics have to say about the place, too.
