Police said the accused were arrested in July 2011 after the victim's father lodged a complaint accusing the duo of luring his daughter and committing the crime.

The duo had allegedly gone to the victim's village, Rajlu Garhi, and lured her into a secluded place.

The Murthal police had registered a case under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The court of Manisha Batra, additional district and sessions judge, had found them guilty of the crime and awarded punishment on Friday.
