The amount sanctioned to the RWA for maintaining 12 parks in Sector 14 is Rs 21,000, but the association gets, after tax deduction, just Rs 18,000. The association has repeatedly written to Huda seeking a hike in maintenance charges, but no action has been taken.
"The amount given by Huda is not sufficient to maintain the park. Wages of gardener and other staff have gone up. The RWA has to pay from its pocket," said KS Yadav, president of Sector 14 RWA.
Police personnel, who are here to provide security to a former governor, are now using the park. Residents are complaining of broken tracks and swings. Besides, fountains at the park are not working.
Residents said Huda had promised to start the repair work soon, but the authority did not keep its words. They say the area does not have an open space for their children.
Though Huda has provided building materials for the repair work of the park, it has not been started yet.
Naresh Pawar, executive engineer, Huda said, "We are starting the repairing work and will try to finish it as soon as possible."
