Hollywood actress Liz Hurley and India-born businessman Arun Nayar are reportedly staying at a heritage hotel near this Rajasthan city of lakes amid rumours that the two may tie the knot immediately or just hold a wedding rehearsal.
Informed sources said the couple has been stationed at the Devigarh Fort Palace Hotel, along with family friends, since Wednesday evening though the hotel management refused to speak about Hurley or Nayar.
There are also rumours that they are hosting a party on Thursday to celebrate the birthday of Nayar's mother Guna.
Security has been tightened around the hotel premises as journalists and photographers have begun gathering outside to get first hand information and photographs of the couple and the event.
Nayar, his mother and Hurley arrived at Udaipur on Wednesday evening in their special chartered plane, said sources at the airport here.
According to the sources, there could be a rehearsal of their marriage, which was earlier reported scheduled for March 2007.
Nayar had hosted a party at the Devigarh Palace Hotel about two years ago as well.
Devigarh Fort Palace is situated 26 km northeast of Udaipur. Tucked away in the age-old Aravali hills of Rajasthan, the 18th century palace is known as one of the perfect romantic getaways in the desert state.
"As many as 80 guests have been invited by the couple. All 39 special suites of the hotel have been booked," the sources said.
Apart from Hurley's family members, a host of friends, including football star David Beckham and wife Victoria, are slated to attend the party. Top industrialists and Bollywood bigwigs are also expected to be in attendance.
Families of both Nayar and Hurley have reportedly been camping in India for a while to make arrangements for the upcoming wedding.
While some were holidaying in Goa, many were busy with wedding preparations in Mumbai.
