The shy guy with intense looks, Shiney Ahuja made his mark with the much-acclaimed Hazaron Khwaishein Aisi and is sitting pretty even in mainstream cinema right now. “I’m a Punjabi and being intense is in my DNA, but I can be really mad at times. I don't drink and I still get on a high, especially with my school friends — I’m more drunk than the real drunk ones around,” the actor explains from the US, where he is currently relaxing.

In his next release Woh Lamhe, Shiney revisits one of the most critical times of Mahesh Bhatt’s life. “I’m honoured to play Bhatt saheb in this film. During the making of the film, I could feel the character’s grief,” he says.

Up next is Zindaggi Rocks, in which he plays a doctor in love with a DJ. Besides, he has also signed a Priyadarshan film “with Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan. Then there is Anurag Basu’s Metro.”

Shiney says that his profession is taking care of his passion for travelling. “During this part-work and part-pleasure trip, I treated myself to a week-long stay at the Virgin Islands and the Caribbean Cruise."

“My abilities were questioned when I shifted from theatre to modelling. And the switch to movies was no different,” he says. But he proved his prowess by getting nominated for his role in Hazaron… both for the best debut and best actor categories at an award ceremony, “Which has happened only to Shah Rukh Khan before,” he informs.
