Shilpa Shetty is apparently perturbed over her link-up rumours and feels that press is leaving no stone unturned to malign her image. In between her stand to refrain from interviews, the hot gal talks with HTTabloid to give her take.

Rumours suggest that you are seeing Milind Deora. Also there are talks that you are dating director Anubhav Sinha. What is the true story behind all this?
I am neither dating Anubhav Sinha nor going around with Milind Deora. They are my friends like many others in the film industry but unfortunately my friendly relations are misconstrued as love affairs. I am surprised why people are interested in associating my name to persons who I don't even know. This is a deliberate attempt to tarnish my image and my relationships.

But why is it happening with just you?
Since I am single, they think that I am ready to mingle. But believe me, it's a curse to be single in this industry. Even if I meet somebody for professional or other social reasons, it is misconstrued. Whether that person is a senior or respectable person in the industry, rumourmongers really do not care all about this.

But you are seen with many hot hunks from the industry?
Let me make one think very clear that I don't hunt for good-looking men in and out of the industry. It is rather very unfortunate that people get such impressions because they read about them in print.

So, is this factor driving you away from press?
It's strange that negative things always make good headlines and the positive ones fail to find their way in print and are not highlighted prominently. It's better to refrain from interviews. Press tends to cutomise things as per its requirements.
