On paper, Virender Sehwag will lead Delhi but his India commitments mean he will hardly ever be around. So Delhi's vice-captaincy is actually ‘the crown’ and this year, Ajay Jadeja will have a tough job at hand.

Despite the presence of a number of India and India A players in the squad, Delhi cricket has never been in as bad a shape as it was last season, when at one stage, it seemed like the former Ranji champions would be relegated from the Elite Division.
In a chat with Hindustan Times, Jadeja spoke on what lies ahead.
How do you feel about taking charge of Delhi?
It's a great honour of course, given the way things have been for me these last 4-5 years.
But I've been here in a matter of speaking, and beyond.
Led North Zone, led India in one-dayers, not because I was the oldest or senior-most but because people felt I had the best instincts for the job. So I'm not totally flattered but I'm happy that people feel I'm good enough for this.
