After my 12th results, I am keen to pursue either Aeronautical engineering course or Electronics. I would like to have your advise. in 12th I had opted PCM subjects. Please guide me further.

With PCM in Class XII you can certainly try for aeronautical engineering or electronics.

In India aeronautical engineers carry out routine maintenance of aircraft on the ground overhauling the plane, and responding to any reports of malfunction during flight.

They mostly work in a team carrying out any repair if necessary and the regular inspection of the aircraft in the hangar. With the increase in the number of private airlines, and the number of aircraft being used today, there is a huge growth in this field.

But there are limited institutes offering aeronautical engineering – including IIT Chennai, Mumbai, Kharagpur and Kanpur, and also Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh and Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai.

You can also do the Aircraft Maintenance engineering course offered by several institutes including the Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering in Dehradun, Indian Institute of Aeronautics, Punjabi Bagh (West), New Delhi, Indian Institute of Aircraft Engineering, Mahipalpur Extension, New Delhi and Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology Chennai.

The details for the Air Craft Maintenance Engineering (AME) course can be obtained from the official website of D.G.C.A www.dgca.nic.in. Electronics and communications is a good course if you wish to get into the growing area of telecomuncations. Most engineering colleges offer BE/ BTech in electronics.
