Ever wondered how to make a chunk of text stand out visually? If you have, here’s a show you wouldn’t want to miss.
Ever wondered how to make a chunk of text stand out visually? If you have, here’s a show you wouldn’t want to miss. Ad agency Wieden+Kennedy has brought to Delhi — to a confoundingly-placed gallery next to its office in a market basement, to be precise — a selection from the sparky British graphic design journal, Typographica. There are era-marking takes on subjects such as ‘sex and typography’. There’s also one on ‘concrete poetry’ by a spy-turned-pastor.
Matched with such esoterica are some covers of Seminar, a magazine that has come wrapped in inventive typography for half a century.
It’s a rare union that’s never been tried before — not at least in a market basement. Take our word for it.
‘Typographica & 50 years of Seminar’ is on at W+K Exp, B-10 Triveni Complex, Sheikh Sarai I; February 17 to March 9, 10 am to 7 pm. Call 46009595 for directions.
