IIFA awards goes to Amsterdam

The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards ceremony will be held in Amsterdam from June 9 to 11.

The details of the sixth annual IIFA weekends and awards and nominations for 13 different events were also announced. The awards would be given on June 11 at Amsterdam Arena.

The event will also feature a celebrity cricket match, a film festival and a world film premiere.

Brand Ambassador of IIFA Amitabh Bachchan told reporters here that Indian cinema has been a national integrator and with IIFA it is becoming "international integrator" by bringing the cultures of different countries closer.

"The entire film industry can share their creativity with others," he said adding IIFA awards have marked the beginning of a new era for recognising and applauding the achievements of India cinema.
