IIIT-A to ink pact with US varsity
AS PART of the expansion of existing academic and research collaborations, the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-A), will enter into an agreement with USA?s University at Buffalo-the State University of New York (Sunny, New York) on Thursday.
AS PART of the expansion of existing academic and research collaborations, the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-A), will enter into an agreement with USA’s University at Buffalo-the State University of New York (Sunny, New York) on Thursday.

Giving this information, Dr MD Tiwari, IIIT-A Director said that it will be an exchange programme to collaborate in academic and research fields of mutual interest in IT and allied areas including management common to both parties.
“The terms of the MoU as it relates to the State University New York, Buffalo, USA, shall be executed through the State University New York, Buffalo, USA office of the Provost and executive vice president, Public Service and International Programme,” he informed.
The agreement will come into effect from the date of its signature and will remain valid for five years or until its termination by one of the two parties. Prof SK Tripathi, provost and executive vice president, University of Buffalo, Sunny New York, USA and Dr MD Tiwari, Director IIIT-A on Thursday, will do the formal joint signature.
Earlier, IIIT-A had undertaken a number of collaborations and projects of national and international repute like Carnegie Mellon University, California University, Riverside, Buffalo University, New York, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, Korea, Canberra University, Australia, EPFL, Louisiana and ETZ, Zurich, Switzerland and CTIF, Aalborg University, Denmark.
Prof Tripathi along with his colleague, Prof Stephen Dunnett, will visit the Institute and take a round of different labs from 2.30 to 3.30 pm. Thereafter, he will take part in the lecture cum interaction session in the institute with all faculty members, officers, students and staff members.
Workshop: Harishchandra Research Institute will organise an ‘International Workshop on Teichmuller: Theory and Moduli Problems’ from Thursday to January 14, wherein mathematicians of international repute will participate.
Srijan-2006: M COM students of AU and Allahabad Degree College will organise a freshers-cum-farewell function ‘Srijan-2006’ at Rajshree Tandon Mandapam at 11 am on January 10.
