Colonelganj police raided house number 145/B/1 Katju Bagh Colony, Chandpur Salori, at around 10 pm on Saturday following a tip-off and arrested Amrit Lal Bhartiya son of Jogeshwar Bharti and his son Vijay Kumar.
The police team recovered two 12 bore country-made pistols, a large number of unfinished pistols, empty cartridges, live cartridges, drill machine, welding machine and many other tools from the site.
SP (City) KNS Yadav said that the raid conducted by the cops is a part of drive against criminals active in Kachchar area under the directives of SSP and CO (Crime).
The police team unearthed the illegal arms factory on an information given by another criminal detained under charges of loot during investigation. The team from Colonelganj police station credited for the achievement included SI Ranvijay Singh, SI Sanjay Singh and SI Sunil Kumar Dubey besides constables. A case has been registered against the culprits at Colonelganj police station and the SSP has declared a cash award to the police team for the achievement.
