Passengers travelling from Lucknow to New Delhi were stranded early on Sunday morning at the Kauda village after the train's brake jammed en route.

Pictures show the train letting out smoke as well, although there was no report of any injury or casualty.

Many people got off the Uttar Pradesh railways' double decker train that operates on Fridays and Sundays, and not unlike a typical Indian spectacle, even clicked pictures of the incident.

The train runs from Lucknow Junction to Anand Vihar Terminus and crosses Bareilly, Moradabad and Ghaziabad on the route.

The journey has now resumed with the train crawling towards its destination.
