Gagan Narang and Sanjeev Rajput brought up the rear while Artem Khadjibekov of Russia won the title in the men's rifle 3 position event at the World Shooting Championships in Zagreb.

Narang, who has already qualified to take part in the Olympic Games in the discipline, shot a 1136. He fired 385 in prone, 371 in standing and 380 in kneeling positions.

Rajput also tallied an identical score carding 391 in prone, 371 in standing and 374 in kneeling on Sunday.

Khadjibekov claimed the gold with a score of 1273.5. The Russian, who had finished fifth in the Athens Olympics with 1261.6 points, topped the qualifying rounds with a card of 1176 (398+382+396) but shot an average 97.5 in the finals.

Stevan Pletikosic of Serbia took the silver with 1269.1 (1171+98.1) and Lei Zhang of China took the bronze with 1268.4 (1170+98.4) after a shoot-off.

Zhang and Mario Knoegler of Austria were tied after the finals but in the tie-breaker the Chinese proved himself far better and climbed the podium.
