"Our goal is to win as many medals as we can. We expect to win gold and silver in the men's section, first place in women's rapid chess and win top honours in the team championship in classical format," Grandmasters K Sasikiran, Pentala Harikrishna and Koneru Humpy told in Chennai.

Sasikiran said that being top seeded in the event had put enormous pressure on the team.

"We have to concentrate on our game by playing stronger. Medals will come from performance," he said. The other two GMs concurred with his view.

The three were speaking to reporters at the end of a 10-day camp under GM Lev Borisovich Psakhis, who moved to Israel from Siberia.
