Foreign Secretary Shashank on Monday met his Pakistani counterpart Riaz Khokhar as a follow-up to the meeting between Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Pakistani Premier Zafarullah Khan Jamali.

It was a "courtesy call" lasting about half-an-hour, External Affairs Ministry spokesman told reporters in Islamabad.

Following the meeting of the two Prime Ministers, External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha met his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri on Sunday.

The two sides have underscored the need to consider ways to maintain the present momentum to improve bilateral ties.
