Indian appointed as editor of Oman's new English daily
Senior Indian journalist Ajit Kumar Jha has been appointed editor of the Oman Tribune, the country's third English daily, which was launched on Wednesday.
Senior Indian journalist Ajit Kumar Jha has been appointed editor of the Oman Tribune, the country's third English daily, which was launched on Wednesday.
The newspaper "is dedicated to provide the edge of knowledge to the discerning readers of Oman so that they make of the valuable information provided covering a range of content and trends," said Oman Tribune publisher Mohammed Suleiman al Taei.
The newspaper is staffed by a highly qualified editorial team drawn from around the world. Several well-known and highly regarded correspondents from around the world will also contribute to Oman Tribune, Al Taei said.
Editor Jha, whose last assignment was at India Today as a senior editor, has been senior associate editor with The Indian Express in New Delhi. He was previously employed with The Times of India as their resident editor for the Patna edition and as a senior assistant editor for their editorial page in New Delhi.
