Indian democracy is an example for the Republic of Maldives, the island nation's Chief Justice Mohammad Rashid Ibrahim said here on Thursday.

He was addressing a gathering of students and teachers in the Aligarh Muslim University.

AMU Vice-Chancellor Naseem Ahmed invited the students from Maldives to study here.
