The Government has recalled an Indian diplomat barely three months into his posting apparently because he misused his position.

RKT Arasu, a Second Secretary in the Mission, has now returned to India, but no one in the Indian High Commission is willing to talk on record.

Indian High Commissioner RL Narayan refused to comment on the issue.

Arasu, whose job included handling labour issues, was taking retrenched Indian workers "for a ride", according to informed sources.

Immigration authorities two weeks ago picked up 60 Indian labourers camping outside the High Commission and put them in detention centre till they could be repatriated.
