27-year-old Sukhwinder Singh was found dead in a car park on the Downs, close to Epsom racecourse on Saturday, January 21. However he was unidentified until last week.

It is suspected that Indian origin Singh may have been killed after an incident at a party.

The police have released a photograph of Singh in the hope that anyone who recognises him will come forward. Since the investigation started, police have been keen to speak to anyone who gave a lift to some Asian men in the direction of Thornton Heath or Purley.

They now think Singh may have been at a party in Sandfield Road, Thornton Heath, the night before his death. Officers are looking for partygoers who may know something about Singh.

Detective Chief Inspector Ray Marley of Surrey Police, said, "We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have been at this party in Thornton Heath."

Singh was married with three daughters aged one, two and three.

He left them at home in August last year to come to Europe and earn money to send back for them. Singh arrived in the UK in January and is thought to have stayed in the Southall or Hayes areas, but police are still looking for information about where he lived.

Investigators were searching for a group of Asian men seen next to an abandoned car about half-a-mile from the body on the morning of the murder.

Seven men were arrested last week, but all were released without charge by Thursday. DCI Marley said, "Was he a friend, neighbour or acquaintance of yours? We need to build up a picture of Singh's life in England."
