The Indian team comprising Yasin Merchant, Aditya Mehta and Rupesh Shah could not counter their formidable opponents and went down 8-85, 41-60, 0-78 at the Al Saad Multi Purpose Hall.

Rupesh Shah played the first frame for India but was easily outplayed by China's Junhui Ding 8-85 while the experienced Yasin Merchant could not bail India out as he went down to Wenbo Liang 41-60 in the second frame.

In the third frame, Aditya Mehta and Merchant had virtually no clue as they lost 0-78 against the Chinese pair of Junhui Ding and Pengfei Tian.

The Indians will now take on Malaysia in the bronze medal match scheduled later in the evening. Malaysia lost to Hong Kong 1-3 in the second semi-final.
